The Best Western Restaurants in Lombok

While Indonesia does have some incredible local dishes (think: nasi goreng, babi guling and satay sticks to name a few) and Lombok has its own great range of traditional Sasak offerings, sometimes you just fancy a Western brunch, a decent burger or a superfood salad. Temptations Cafe and Bakery

Temptations in Senggigi is one of the major Western restaurants on the island that is known for its delicious burgers, bakes and brunch options. The cafe is open 8am-9pm every day so there’s no excuse not to pop in for a coffee and a cake if you’re passing through. Temptations bake fresh baguettes daily as well as making regular cakes, fresh smoothies and specials dishes like lamb shanks and tuna salads.

El Bazar

If you don’t fancy Indonesian dishes but you still want something spiced and scrumptious, head to El Bazar in Kuta. This lovely cafe restaurant has a really laid-back atmosphere and is filled with Insta-worthy Moroccan-inspired interiors. El Bazar serves up a mix of Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern cuisine with mezze platters, couscous salads and hearty wraps that will hit the spot for lunch! The centre of El Bazar is open-air so is a lovely space to work with natural sunlight flowing in. 

Lotus Bayview

Lotus Bayview in Senggigi offers the best of boths worlds when you’re seeking out Western food: mouth-watering pizza and stunning sea views! What more could you want? With pizza, pasta, seafood and steaks gracing the menu, you’ll have a whole host of wonderful Western dishes to choose from. Lotus Bayview also offers a decent wine menu, great coffee and amazing dessert options to top it all off!

Terra

For a delicious dish of vegan goodness, you can’t beat Terra in Kuta Lombok. This wholly plant-based restaurant features an impressive menu of soups, salads, starters and more that will have you savouring the flavours of the island. Much of their menu (around 90%) is raw and if you’ve never tried a raw ‘snickers’ or a vegan tiramisu, this is the place go! They have a Healing Station salad bar available every day which is packed with raw greens and proteins that you can combine into a tasty smoothie bowl or salad to go.

The Bus Bar

For a fun night out, The Bus Bar is a top spot to go. Start the evening with a delectable pizza and continue the night with cocktails and dancing to live DJs. The restaurant is essentially an open-sided bus food truck set up with loads of open-air seating so that punters can flow in and out with ease. These guys certainly know how to top a pizza and even offer vegan cashew cheese for those who love a plant-based pizza!

Verve Beach Club

For sunset cocktails and Western snacks, you can’t beat Verve Beach Club. The starters and platters are great for sharing with friends while you sit around the pool or watch the sun go down. Every Saturday they put on a seafood BBQ with all-you-can-eat seared seafood and veg which is definitely worth the 175k price tag! Plus, their daily Happy Hour from 16-18H offers 20% house beer, wines and cocktails!
