A Drink with a View: The Best Rooftop Bars in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai’s Best Rooftop Bars: The High Life

If you’re after a view in Chiang Mai chances are you’re going to head up Doi Suthep. After all Chiang Mai’s very own mountain does have a spectacular vantage point. What it doesn’t have? Decadent cocktails, cold beer and bar snacks. For those you’ll need to head to the incredible rooftop bars in Chiang Mai.

Bangkok might be the king of rooftop bars. That’s not a hard title to claim thanks to all of the skyscrapers. Chiang Mai approaches rooftop bars with a different vibe. It’s all about soaking up the noise lilting upwards from the street, enjoying the rolling hills around the city and soaking up the warm evening air.

There’s a real mixture of bar style and size in Chiang Mai. Some are luxurious hotel rooftops with pricey but delicious cocktails. Others are quieter and more relaxed, perfect for kicking back after a day’s sightseeing. Let’s see what we’ve got…

This is the one for the cocktail connoisseurs. Set on the 5th floor of the luxury boutique Akyra’s Manor it’s a lesson in decadent luxury. Plush sofas, infinity pool and premium drinks. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and will happily rustle you up something off-menu if your favorite drink isn’t there.

Expect prices to start around 200 baht for wine (there’s an incredible list!) and beer. The cocktail menu starts at 350 baht and climbs from there. Unusually for Thailand this place stays open a little later than the usual midnight, closing at 1am.
