This stunning Phuket attraction made quite a splash when it became the filming location for The Beach, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, in 1999. It gained so much popularity it bears no resemblance to the isolated paradise that it was in the film as it is now filled with visitors, ferries and speedboats. To get a good picture, visit the location early in the morning or after 5 PM to avoid the crowds. Find a crew and rent a long tail boat. For a crew of 3, it will be around 600 Baht per person. Take note that this is a national park with an entrance fee of 400 Baht.

Known for its appearance in the James Bond movie, ‘The Man With The Golden Gun,’ this striking location is known for its emerald green water and towering vertical karsts that make you wonder if they will one day topple over. Because it can get crowded during tourist season, try to get here early in the morning to get a good shot of the island. Being part of full day tour packages, it would be cheaper to book a tour rather than a long tail boat to take you here unless you have a big group.

The colorful facade of Phuket Old Town is the best place to work with lines and angles. Its quaint architecture which is mix of classical styles from east and west and the wall art found all over the city will make a good background if you fancy striking a pose. A taxi ride to Phuket Old Town will set you back around 150 to 250 Baht.

This floating city is quite an original subject.  The multi-colored stilted houses and boats with the earth colors of the karsts in the background make a very beautiful landscape if you find the right angle. Throw in a floating football field and you have something original on your Instagram post that will gather a few likes and followers. If that’s not enough, then maybe a few portrait shots of smiling locals will be a hit. Hire a long boat or join a full day tour to see this fascinating location.

For a bit of danger and fire, see the Phuket Fantasea show. With the dazzling costumes and death-defying aerial performances, you are bound to get a good shot of this exotic, Thai version of Las Vegas. The price of the show, inclusive of pick up, buffet and tour, however, is a bit steep at 1800 Baht. It is a 15-minute ride cab drive from Patong.

It is going to be a toss-up between the colorful and ornate structures within the premises or the giant white Buddha looking down on you. Both sights are amazing subjects and this is a spot worthy of a photo walk. To get here, either a hire a tuk tuk or a taxi. From Patong, a cab ride would set you back around 500Baht, so find some friends to split it with you.
