Koh Yao Yai: A perfect island to chill after Partying in Phuket

Koh Yao Yai is an island located in the middle of Phang Nga Bay in between the coasts of Krabi and Phuket, Ko Yao Yai offers a calm refuge from busy beaches and the wild nights you’ve spent partying. If you are looking to take a few days off in between the Phuket Pub Crawl, and the Krabi Pub Crawl on your journey across Thailand, Koh Yao Yai is definitely a place you should check out.

Here’s what you can do in Koh Yao Yai:

Visit Koh Yoh Yai Village

A visit to Koh Yao Yai’s dreamy village will give you a great first impression of the island. You’ll be greeted by friendly locals and unbelievably clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling. There are a wealth of activities to do in this village during the day and at night. You can check out the local market, where you’ll find traditional handcrafted Thai ornaments and local delicatessens. Or, head to the village’s beach where you can play volleyball and beach soccer on smooth white sands.

Koh Yoh Yai is a paradise of turquoise blue coastline where beautiful beaches thrive. Here’s where to relax and lie out in the sun on your next trip to the island:

Laem Had Beach

For thick groves of coconut trees, twittering birds and smooth white sands, visit Laem Had Beach. One of the most fabulous sunsets on the island is right here on this beach

Loh Paret Beach

Loh Paret beach is one of Koh Yao Yai’s busiest beaches on the central west coast of the island. Along with three resorts, it offers sunset views, golden sands and swimming in clear water. Don’t let the busyness fool you, however. There are still plenty of places to find a patch of sand to relax on in Loh Paret. Plus, you can stop by the Yao Yai Resort for sunset cocktail hour if you fancy a drink or two.

Loh Jark Beach

Loh Jark beach can get quite busy, especially when decorated by speedboat day-trippers and jet skis. But, this stretch of white sand is still dream-like, nonetheless. Swim in its clear waters or lie down and soak up the sun.

Ao Muang Beach

For a small secluded beach, head to Ao Muang. This fine stretch of sand doused with palm tree fringes has some of the bluest water on Koh Yao Yai. You won’t find a swarm of jet-ski’s here—just calmness under a beautiful sun.

Spend a day at the Spa
