Slumber Party’s Top 5 Hostels in Krabi

Narrowing Down the Best Hostels in Krabi

It can be hard to find a kick-ass hostel in a new city—especially if you’re relying on the internet. The fact of the matter is that anyone can post an old picture or fake a review. To really know what you’re getting yourself into, you should ask the locals. That’s why we’ve decided to take the guess work out of choosing the best hostels in Krabi. To hell with anonymous reviews! Listen to us instead.

#1: Glur Hostel

This hostel is perfect for anyone looking for the beauty of a resort for the cost of a hostel. It’s located just a kilometer away from the Ao Nang beachfront, and boasts gorgeous limestone cliff views. Staying at Glur is the perfect chance to relax while you’re in Krabi. You can escape from the hustle and bustle of cities like Bangkok, while still enjoying nightly activities and the other social aspects of hostel life.

  • Eight-Person Dormitory
  • Private Bunk-Bed Room (Two Person)

  • Open-air common area with kitchen space
Our Favorite Things:

Glur Hostel is in the perfect location! It’s a short walk or drive from the beach, but still situated in one of the more affordable and tourist-friendly areas of Ao Nang. Less than 300 meters from the hostel you can find amazing local food, convenience stores, ATMs, and laundry service.

The Latest Reviews:

“Such a beautiful place, it’s quiet and cozy. Away from the hustle and bustle. So clean and comfortable. A bit of a walk to the beach but it wasn’t bad. Lots of places to eat nearby. Staff was really helpful and great. Breakfast in the mornings was simple but I’m not picky, it was nice. Pool was really nice. Overall, very relaxing stay.”

“Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent location, perfectly kept dorms; beds were very spacious and private with a large locker at the foot of the bed. Free breakfast was basic, but enjoyable. Staff were extremely friendly. Toilet and shower facilities were perfect. Has a very nice pool also. Overall, very pleasant stay, would 100% stay here again.”

#2: Pop-In Hostel

The staff here likes to say that once you Pop-In, you’ll never want to pop out. We’re inclined to agree with them! Pop-In Hostel is one of the newer hostels in Krabi, and what they lack in experience they make up for in enthusiasm. Whether you’re looking to party hard or chill-out, they have countless options. As one of Ao Nang’s busier hostel, there’s also a huge social atmosphere.

  • Eight-Person Mixed Dormitory
  • Eight-Person Female Dormitory

  • Laundry and travel agency services
  • Complimentary linens, towels, shampoo, and body wash
  • Daily tours to attractions in and around Krabi
Our Favorite Things:

What we love the most about Pop-in Hostel is the unique approach they have in regards to being a party hostel. Even though they know how to party, it’s not what they’re focussed on. That makes Pop-In a great option for someone who may want a night out, but isn’t entirely sure about the type of trip they’d like to have yet.

The Latest Reviews:

“Awesome hostel. One of the closer ones to the beach. Good social atmosphere. Bit of a curtain on beds for privacy. Loved the free BBQ every night. Staff are friendly and easy to set up trips with. My only annoyance was the bathroom sink area was slanted so I had to put my stuff on the ground while getting ready. Me being picky. Otherwise near perfect hostel. Extended my stay three nights it was so great.”

“I stayed here about a week or so ago and loved it! I stayed in the female dorm. The wifi worked well and so did the a/c (they do turn it off for a few hours in the afternoon but we were out an about during the day so it didn’t matter). It was quiet and clean where we slept! The dorm room had a little curtain you could pull across each bed for additional privacy and huge storage area for your belongings. The atmosphere and staff were amazing! It was easy to meet ppl at the nightly BBQ!”

#3: K-Bunk Hostel & Kitchen

We just can’t decide why we keep sending people to K-Bunk Hostel. It’s a toss-up between the delicious food, great drinks, friendly staff, and family vibes. This is a hostel that’s dedicated to giving you a place to relax, in addition to options to go out. Better yet, they focus on creating an extremely sociable atmosphere. From family dinners to awesome common areas, you can’t help but interact with other travellers.

  • Twelve-Person Mixed Dormitory
  • Full-service restaurant, travel agency, and tour service
  • Sister hostel of Ao Nang’s biggest party hostel
  • Complimentary linens, towels, shampoo, and body wash

Our Favorite Things:

Down the street from Ao Nang’s largest party hostel, K-Bunk Hostel offers the best of both worlds. It’s chilled, retro atmosphere makes the perfect place to chill with new friends and listen to music. Aside from comfortable accommodations, the full-service, affordable restaurant is perfect after a long day.

The Latest Reviews:

“Very chill and relaxed place! The people are awesome. If you want to have a wild night people are always down, but also plenty of people are down for a chill night in! Amazing food, amazing staff, clean & comfy rooms and the banana smoothies are the best I’ve ever had!”

“I had a great time staying at this hostel and met some amazing people. It’s a great option if you like to party a bit, but don’t want to stay in a party hostel! Staff were friendly and would sometimes come and chill with you and watch a film or whatever. Love having the guitar and ukulele made a great chilled and sociable atmosphere.”

#4: Pak-Up Hostel

Pak-Up is one of Pop-In’s sister hostels. Just like you’ll never want to pop-out of Pop-In, you’ll never want to pack-up once you settle in here. This hostel offers an extremely social atmosphere, and the neighbors know to head to Pak-Up when they want a energetic, dynamic place to mix and mingle. Despite being located in the center of Krabi Town, they offer transfers to Krabi’s best beaches and islands. You can also take part in their free nightly events, regular tours, and amazing staff.

  • Ten-Person Deluxe Female Dormitory
  • Four-Person Superior Mixed Dormitory
  • Full-service travel agency and tour company
  • In-house kayaking, temple, and rock climbing tours
  • Complimentary linens, towels, shampoo, and body wash
  • Full bar and decked-out common areas
Our Favorite Things:

Of course we could talk about Pak-Up’s facilities and amenities—they’re amazing. But what really makes this hostel stand out is the work they’ve put into their Playground Bar. From beer pong to hourly deals and drunk jenga, you’re sure to find something amazing in the bar’s extremely social atmosphere. As far as hostel bars go, we aren’t sure we’ve seen anything better!

The Latest Reviews:

“Really enjoyed my stay here for a night. Even though it’s low season, the bar outback was still pretty busy and fun. Common area was also always filled with people, and the facilities were very well kept and clean. Staff were very nice and informative for all my questions and needs. Would recommend this place to anyone.”

“The nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed in! Staff are really friendly and constantly cleaning! Rooms are spacious with draws that you can lock with a padlock. The outside bar is really fun with a free BBQ and there’s always activities you can sign up for at reception. The wifi is really good and the showers are amazing with hot water.”

#5: Mini Boxtel Ao Nang Hostel

If you’re looking for female-friendly accommodation, the Mini Boxtel is your place to go in Krabi! One of the few female-only options in the area, you’re sure to fall in love with this hostel. Their first-floor boutique restaurant is the perfect follow-up to a day in the sun. And trust us when we say you’ll spend a lot of time in the sun! Mini Boxtel is only a short walk away from the Ao Nang beachfront.

  • Twelve-Person Female Dormitory
  • Twelve-Person Mixed Dormitory (Must Reserve Full Room)
  • Laundry and motorbike service
  • Complimentary linens, towels, shampoo, and body wash
  • In-house tour information and booking
Our Favorite Things:

Mini Boxtel is one of the most unique hostels in all of Krabi, and we just can’t get enough of it. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind place to stay, this is it. It offers a creative edge that just can’t be beat. And you get to enjoy that on top of their spectacular facilities and Thai hospitality.

The Latest Reviews:

“Amazing hostel in Ao Nang. Literally 2 minutes walk from the beach, you get a spacy capsule, giving you more privacy. Place is very clean and air conditioned. Downstairs you’ve got a café, with the loveliest people. Only warning: food is so delicious, you will end up eating most of your meals there and you really should be out eating your body weight in Thai food, not Western style foods. Ah well, no regrets! Will definitely be back.”

“I don’t think I could say enough good things about this place. The cafe was amazing! Really set a chill vibe to relax, read a book, talk to other travelers or even cafe goers. The man in charge is a complete sweetheart and will make sure everything is just right. The place has an Hawaiian edge to it that is spectacular. My friends and I loved it, go and try it out!”
